Zero rate Credit Cards
The
world of business competition is friendly to the consumer. With
so many credit card companies in the fray, you sure can expect
a lot of freebies. Companies are trying to make inroads into
the customer base of rival credit card companies. This is how
0% APR Credit Cards have come into the picture. A rival company
may approach you to transfer your existing credit card balance
to a new credit card that they may offer you. They may also
allow the transferred credit to be used interest-free for a
specified period of time, usually six months. Any unpaid amount
after the specified, interest-free period will start accruing
interest.
Companies
offering 0% APR Credit Cards generally do not charge any fees
for a number of months.
Read
the terms and conditions of the offer carefully. Do not rely
on verbal assurances from the companies. Make sure that you
will actually be able to use the transferred credit at 0% interest.
Also, confirm the period of time you can use the credit interest-free.
Normally, this period is for six months. You may have to pay
a higher than normal interest rate on any unpaid amount beyond
the specified interest-free period.
It is advisable to be well informed of all the charges, interest
rates, and specified interest-free time period, before you accept
the deal. Attention to these particulars will ensure future
safety and peace of mind.
